This Sunday, a group of volunteers from University of Hertfordshire studying BSc Sports Therapy teamed up with Asthma UK at the Virgin Money London Marathon 2018 to provide sports massage to more than 250 runners – raising lots of money and awareness for Asthma in the UK.
There were some truly brave and inspirational stories shared amongst all competitors, with the majority of runners suffering from Asthma themselves. Some great times achieved by the athletes despite the warm conditions they faced.
This was an amazing opportunity given to us by the University of Hertfordshire – a truly memorable experience and one to never forget. Many of us had only dreamed of being in London when the marathon was happening – let alone providing post- race sports massage to competitors!
